Male Liposuction - Abdomen
Male liposuction is commonly performed for localized fat deposits in the abdominal area. This is particularly true for the lower abdomen,
since many men develop fat in this area which can be very resistant to diet and exercise. These areas are commonly referred to beer belly, pot belly, or spare tire. In these cases there is usually a
strong inherited or genetic tendency which causes fat to accumulate in the abdominal area.
Liposuction of the abdomen (or any other area, for that matter) is not a substitute for diet or exercise, but a way to change your relative
proportions when diet and exercise have not been effective in proportionately reducing abdominal fat.
Newer tumescent liposuction allows the abdominal fat to be removed easily with just local anesthetics, without the complications or risks
associated with general anesthesia. Recovery is rapid, with most patients getting back to work in about 3 days.
