Liposuction Comments from Dr. Melton's patients: I am over 55 and my tummy protruded. Regardless of the amount of exercise that I did, I couldn't get rid of it. I had always been a person who exercised. I did situps, I bought a couple of the machines you see on television, you know, the ab machines. But nothing really made a dent. It was something that I had never had, because I had never been overweight. It was uncomfortable. First of all, it was unflattering – it was unflattering in a bathing suit, and in certain clothing, and it was becoming difficult to buy clothes. And buying clothes a size larger was taking care of that issue, but then the clothes didn't look right in other places. I had read a little bit about liposuction and heard a little bit about it. I never really knew anyone personally who had it done. But after talking with Dr. Melton about it a couple of times, I decided to give it a shot. And I'm very glad I did! I think that the local anesthetic is just a marvelous thing. I would have had serious concerns and reservations if I had to go into a general anesthetic for something like this. I have always had concerns about general anesthetic, and would only do it for something that was very serious and really needed to be done. To be able to do this with a local anesthetic was just wonderful. Dr. Melton, Debbie, and Barbara, and the entire staff were just wonderful. Everyone was just very concerned about your comfort; (are you having any pain?), or any little thing, (like, are you laying the right way?) – the whole nine yards. Every one was just so, so concerned. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the office, and with the way the procedure was done. Everything was so clean. And so sterile. I just thought it was all very well done. Within two weeks I could see a big difference. Within 45 days, I was wearing clothes that I hadn't been able to wear for a year or so. I was very comfortable, I was tucking my blouses in again; I just felt like my old self again. I just feel better. I feel better about myself. I feel so much more comfortable in my clothing – I'm happier. I would recommend this to anyone who has a problem area that they are unhappy with. It's fast, there is no hospitalization, it is relatively painless, and the results come very very quickly. - Mortgage banker, female, age 56 |
